Podcasting, have you thought about it? By now you have heard one or two? If you haven’t where have you been? In 2018, voice information services will reign supreme.
By this I mean, voice based services and information will be everywhere. Much like music was everywhere when the Walkman first hit the streets and then when the iPod was introduced to the general public. Now, voice based applications such as Alexa, Siri and Home are all over the place. They are delivering everything from traffic updates to the latest movie reviews. Everyone is in on the act.
Okay not everyone but it seems like it. Now it’s your turn.
If you are not going the extra mile or taking an extra step then you are falling behind. By falling behind, I mean others are already ahead of you and the longer you wait to start a podcast the further behind you will be. This is not to scare you but the reality is you should be scared.
Scared in the fact, that others are doing what you must be doing. I’m not saying if they are going to jump off a bridge you should be jumping off a bridge. What I am saying is that they’re doing something to enhance their business, to promote your services and goods, to voice their message than what is wrong with you doing the same?
You’re in business for a reason. Usually that reason is to sell something. Whatever it is, tangible or intangible, it still needs promotion. It needs to have its message out there. Out there being the world and the Internet is the medium by which you get your message out there. Your website no longer is the only source of information about your products and/or services.
Podcasting is the way to deliver your message to their PC, tablet, smart phone, or whatever new device that is coming down the pike. Of course is also includes the Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and the next generation of voices driven products and services. But now some time to either dive into the deep end or wade in from the shallow end when it comes to podcasting.
Folks, it is not rocket science but you have to begin. You have to take that first step. You do not have to over think this decision but you do have to decide.
